NGĀTI RANGITEAORERE NOMINATIONS FOR ELECTIONS TO THE NGĀTI RANGITEAORERE KOROMATUA COUNCIL
Nominations are now open for candidates for a position as a trustee on the Ngāti Rangiteaorere Koromatua Council.
A nomination must be in writing signed by not less than three (3) Adult Registered Members of Ngāti Rangiteaorere and endorsed with the consent of the nominee. Nomination forms are available on request from the Chief Returning Officer at the address below.
To be elected as a Trustee a nominee must, as at the closing date for nominations, be recorded in the Ngāti Rangiteaorere Register as an Adult Registered Member of Ngāti Rangiteaorere and must not:
Any person who is a member of Ngāti Rangiteaorere, but who is not currently registered as a member, may apply to become registered.
All nominations for the position of trustee and/or applications for registration as a member of Ngāti Rangiteaorere must be received by the Chief Returning Officer at the address below no later than noon on Saturday 10 October 2015.

Nominations, in the required form, for new trustees must be received by the Registrar of the Waiariki District Maori Land Court until noon on 14 August 2014.
There will not be any nominations from the floor of the meeting.
Votes for trustees may be cast at the meeting or by post to be received by the Registrar of the Waiariki Maori Land Court before close of business on 11 September 2014. Postal votes must include evidence of identity.

Ngāti Rangiteaorere and the Crown signed a deed of settlement on 14 June 2013.
Ngāti Rangiteaorere receives $750,000 financial redress and the return of culturally significant sites, which is in addition to a payment of $750,000 and the prior return of Te Ngae Mission Farm in 1993

Ngāti Rangiteaorere members will be asked to formally ratify (approve) the settlement offer made to Ngāti Rangiteaorere and the proposed Post Settlement Governance Entity (PSGE) by voting on whether or not to accept the DOS and PSGE. Two Ratification Information Hui will be held to provide information on the voting options:

Voting commences on 26 April 2013 and closes on 27 May 2013 at 12 noon.

"The Maori Appellate Court has issued its findings in respect of the Te Ngae Farm Trust. The issue was taken to court by trustees Tai Eru and Rangi Easthope and the NRCC supported this on behalf of Ngati Rangiteaorere. The Maori Land Court decision was appealed by Arama Pirika, Pirihira Fenwick and others. This is Maori Appellate court findings. It is a decisive win for Ngati Rangiteaorere iwi."
